Theo the Catalina Macaw

Interesting Fact: A Catalina is a cross between a Blue & Gold Macaw and a Scarlet Macaw and is not found in the wild.

Theo came to us from Santa Rosa at 18 months old, after her owners divorced and could not care for her.

Catalina Macaws are among the most colorful of the Macaws and can learn to talk with a general vocabulary of about 15 or more words or expressions.

They have a natural curiosity, a willingness to learn, and often become very bonded with members of their family.

Theo likes to dance and bob and is popular in animal assisted therapy because she is visually stimulating and the silky textures of her feathers are pleasing to the touch.
